I believe this may effect Thunderbird too, the fonts in Firefox after the upgrade became unusually small, I have seem a few postings about it around online. One person talked about editing the .chrome file and changing font settings but another said just redownloading the browser was easy:

It would be nice to see mozilla offer an official source for Ubuntu users to add to the source list. 
If Songbird wont sing then you need to grab the Codec’s, works fine in Feisty and Gutsy Ubuntu installs.
sudo aptitude install ubuntu-restricted-extras libxine-extracodecs gstreamer0.10-plugins-base gstreamer0.10-plugins-good gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad gstreamer0.10-pitfdll
and….
sudo aptitude install w32codecs
Then it will sing like the Bird it was ment to be.

If you install Picasa on Ubuntu one thing to note is it installs its own version of Wine and runds the Windows version of Picasa, I installed the windows version of Picasa directly though my Wine install and it works fine without causing you to have 2 installations of wine on your system. Google Earth seemingly is a Linux port not just a Windows Wine rip, that being said Picasa runs very well on Ubuntu.
I was discussing peanut allergies with a colleage and how it didnt seen to exist in the 80’s, this lead us on to the fact that perhaps the world is too pre-ccupied with being germ free and he came up with an interesting what if…:
“What if thumb sucking in children was a natural developmental process allowing children to expose the immune system to various germs to build immunity, children being very tactile in the learning process and will obviously pick up germs as the y learn.”
I was always encouraged to go play in the dirt as a child, I have no allegies or health issues to speak of as an adult, am I just lucky? :???:
