I just wanted to say its very easy to misunderstand people, especially in emails or voice messages, its difficult to gage the intent behind the words sometimes.

An example recently was a voice mail that was left at home for my wife and it was relating to something nice she did for someone which backfired and voicemail was rather accusing as if she purposely went out of her way to hurt someone, of course this is not the case but with the day she had been having she was in a rather vulnerable state and the other person who left the message is a rather strong and brash personality so she felt personally wounded.

Now even if the intent behind the words was accusing I said to my wife “Let it go, treat them as you always have with kindness and respect, act as if you are oblivous and in your heart forgive them.”

This has served me well, if someone is trying to get my back up I act oblivious as I possibly can around the person, I maybe grumble a bit behind closed doors and get over it but I really try and forgive them.

“for fast acting relief, slow down” - I read that on the chalk board outside the hostel down the street and its so true, people suffer stress and illness because they live to fast, living fast can be good, you can be positive and outgoing and dynamic but you can live fast in a way that you try and be dynamic and outgoing but you run in to problems all the time and they attach themselves to you so I think the advice is worth adhering to
