On the face of things, we seem to be merely talking about text-based files, containing only the letters of the English Alphabet (and the occasional punctuation mark).
On deeper inspection, of course, this isn’t quite the case. What this site offers is a glimpse into the history of writers and artists bound by the 128 characters that the American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII) allowed them. The focus is on mid-1980’s textfiles and the world as it was then, but even these files are sometime retooled 1960s and 1970s works, and offshoots of this culture exist to this day.

March 2004: Yahoo sues Canadians over spam
According to the March 11 Kitchener-Waterloo Record, Eric Daniel Head, Matthew Head, and Barry Head are being sued by Yahoo! Inc under terms of the US’s new anti-spam legislation. Yahoo! accuses the Heads of sending almost 100 million e-mail messages to its subscribers. EFC’s Vice-President Jeffrey Shallit appeared in interviews on CH TV and in the Kitchener-Waterloo Record. He cautioned that legislative solutions to spam may not be the best route to follow.

I wanted to blogthis because I had an interesting email from Telus after I downloaded a show that aired on CTV the night before and I forgot to record.
Interesting laws exist about how long you can keep programs recorded off the TV but if I download a show that I forgot to record off the TV and record it to a rewritable DVD, watch it and then record over it I am breaking the law?
Its a bit of a double standard. I personally would like to see the broadcasters like Paramount sharing aired shows at a lower quality on P2P networks so when the DVD comes out then people would go and buy it for that and the specials and improved quality.
