Get rig of unwanted browser content!

without comments

Wanna get rid of those “Ads by Google” thatr appear on sites, including mine (I get paid if people click on the links) then get yourself Firefox and Adblock extention.

Firefox is an alternative browser to Internet Explorer and it allows developers to create pliug-ins for it, Adblock it one of those pligins that supports blocking of scripts, iframes, SWF content and images so you can block banner images, the iframe’s that some sites use to try and stop some ad blockers and also if you click the work Adblock in the bottom right of Firefox you can also block scripts that some sites have, also you can see some sites have scripts running that do things you might not want then to do and block them.

I also use it to block graphics on overly graphic based sites. To block all SWF content you can use a wild card *.swf, it also can be used to block quicktime imbedded movies.

One nice trick I also use it for is if I see an SWF quicktime movie in a site and the site is overly crappy I can click the adblock tab, copy the URL, cancel the block request and past the URL straight into the browser. Rather nice if I wanted to send a SWF birthday card to someone but doent want all the other rubbish on that site, also if its an url ending with .swf it will be full screen in the bowser and hitting F11 will then make firefox go into fullscreen mode so you can play your favourite SWF’s in full screen mode :)
